The new WADE-8011 is based on Intel’s C206 chipset and Xeon® processor E3-1200 series and Core™ i7/i5/i3 processors and uses the Mini-ITX form factor to provide the smallest server board on the market. It is designed to provide high performance with greater power efficiency and is ideal for applications such as network security, storage server, POS, lottery, medical, gaming, high-resolution digital signage, surveillance security monitoring and kiosk applications.

A Full House of Features
WADE-8011’s main features include: two DIMM support dual channel ECC/UNB or non-ECC DDR3 SDRAM up to 32GB; dual display via VGA/DVI/HDMI; Intel HD Graphics 3000; two SATA 3.0 connectors (up to 6 Gb/s) and four SATA 2.0 connectors (up to 3 Gb/s), and RAID 0, 1, 5, 10; one PCIe x16 and one PCIe x1 plus USB 2.0 via SDVO connector (PCIe x16 can directly split into two PCIe x8 via riser card without add-on PCIe switch); dual GbE based on PCIe x1 high bandwidth I/O interface; and Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT) 7.0.

Keeping the Size Down Keeps the Cost Down
“We believe that by integrating the Mini-ITX form factor with the latest Intel C206 server chipset, we have made WADE-8011 the smallest server board in the market capable of providing the features required by high-end servers, such as outstanding power savings and maximum utilization of space,” says Robert Feng, product marketing manager at American Portwell Technology. “We also packed the new WADE-8011 with a rich array of features that will appeal to a wide range of industries. For example,” Feng continues, “network security applications require high performance PCIe x8 speed and WADE-8011 provides two Gen 2 PCIe x8 channels without the need to add on a PCIe switch. This is twice as fast as the PCIe Gen 1 and gives the user multi-GbE, and a 10G or higher Ethernet platform that is cost-effective and has unbeatable performance.

“Since we know high resolution imaging is one of the major criteria for medical applications,” Feng explains, “we integrated the latest Intel HD graphics 3000, combined with the newest 32nm processor technology, it means WADE-8011 can deliver the clearest high-end graphics performance with the lowest power requirements. The new integrated graphics engine also improves 3D rendering and more complex shading to create more responsive and realistic 3D visual views.”
